My Neighborhood at Six Feet
My Neighborhood at Six Feet
Social distancing. Physical distancing. Wearing PPE.
This is Texas. We are used to bone-crushing handshakes and bear hugs. We have had to put those customs on hold while we grapple with self-preservation in the face of a pandemic. Now, there is a weariness present on how to keep and respect a physical distance from both friends and strangers. Are you in my space now? Am I in yours?
These are portraits of people I encountered in my neighborhood in Houston, Texas. I found my subjects when I was taking walks or riding my bicycle. The project is not intended to have a political slant; it merely tries to document the adjustment process to a "new normal."
